Time for shredding. A couple hours in the car from Cawston and I was pulling into Squamish to meet up with Marcos and crew for a Saturday afternoon sampling of single track. Squamish did not disappoint, a really fun mix of trails with everything from tech woods, granite slabs, machine built flow and man made stunts. The large granite slabs this area is known for were a fun new challenge on bike, still amazed how much you can learn as you visit different spots.
Marcos and Venessa were amazing hosts in Squamish, but I couldn’t contain my excitement any longer. It was finally time to head to the happiest place on earth – WHISTLER. Looking back it feels like I should have more photos but it was almost impossible to stop riding. With trails this good photo shoots were left to the more committed.
Whistler always delivers some surprises. This year it was the people, met some stellar humans and got to see some friends I already knew we stellar humans. Fun days in the bike park, but with smoke in town and plans to be back in the interior I didn’t get the trail riding in I was hoping for. Guess its just another reason to go back.
Back in Kelowna for the Tuesday night Dad’s ride and a few days of chilling before continuing back to the states.
Forest fires have been the biggest challenge so far this summer. With most of B.C. ablaze and the air quality finally starting to get to me, I made the decision to head back to the states early. I’ve enjoyed my time in B.C. and only scratched the surface of the trails here. So much so I’ve already started plotting my return. Thank you to everyone in B.C. for making this trip so easy.
